PLANT A FUTURE

This is a COMENIUS project carried out by schools of seven different european countries: This project will help us be aware of the wealth of our lands and the importance of landscape in our ways of life as well as the changes we have made in the use of the natural resources in our surroundings. Children will explore the sorroundings and will learn about their explotation through the years, about the eco- systems they represent and about how to conserve this enviromental wealth.

ZEBERIO´S BORDERS

On May 18th there was a mountain tour around the village of Zeberio. The aim was to skirt the village on a 37 Km walk tour that took the whole day long. It was organized by Austarri cultural association. Among the people that took part in the event - most of them villagers- there were school parents, students and teachers. There was also an exhibition about it in the old school building where there could be seen boundary stones, maps, models and photographs.

BULGARIANS´VISIT TO TURKEY

The Bulgarian group could not attend the last meeting in Turkey and they have visited Akishar during the Easter break. I am sure all of us miss the good time we spent there when having a look at these pictures

TREE PLANTING IN ZEBERIO

On march 9th students in our school planted some trees in the school yard and also in the nearby fields. They planted different trees so they can look after them and see them grow: Cherry tree, beech, ash, alder, oak..
They also planted seeds from Latvia, Germany and Turkey. Now we can only do our best, wait and see what happens!

ALTERNATIVE ENERGY IN STRALSUND

I went with my class to the University of applied science here in Stralsund.
There we learned a lot about alternative energy.
In a workshop we tried how to programme Lego-Robots and we built Lego-Windmills.
In our region we win a lot of energy by wind power plants.

A TOUR IN SOFIA- BULGARY

There is a lot to see and many things to collect and learn.We discovered the Nature sorrounding us with our volunteer fiends Malvina from Poland and Winnie from China.

Summer workshops were also related to Nature.

VISIT TO ITALY

All project partners met in Taranto- Italy for the second meeting: Italian, Polish, Latvian, German, Turkish, Bulgarian and Basque. It was a great success!! We had time to present the work done by all the groups, evaluate the aims and activities, agree on next steps and of course taste the best of Italian culture. We visited the two Italian schools that take part in the project, tasted italian food, saw interesting and beautiful places, met friendly people, and the most important thing:shared all those incredible experiences among us. AN ENORMOUS THANKS to our Italian friends for making it possible!!!

CARNIVAL 2012 IN ZEBERIO

We celebrated Carnival at school last 17th February. It was a very good show. We performed a "pastoral". "Pastoral" used to be a long religeous performance very popular through the whole Europe since Middle Ages. Now it only remains in a Basque province from the French territory. Though it has completely lost its religeous sense, it still reminds the origial traditional music and way of acting.It is all written in verse and it is usually about a famous character or a happening. We wrote our "pastoral" about the new school building and all the problems we had before being allowed to move there.

150th ANNYVERSARY OF THE UNITY OF ITALY

From an Italy divided into seven states on the 17th March 1861,the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Kingdom of Sardinia approved the Basic Law of the Unitary state in which “ the king Vittorio Emanuele II assumed for himself and his successors the titleof king of Italy.” 150 years after this historic date, a party flaginvolved the streets of Rome as the major cities of Italy At our school all the students celebrated this event on 16th March because on the 17th was public holiday.

KORRIKA IS COMING

Korrika is the Basque name of a countrywide non stopping race organised by AEK, an organisation which teaches Basque and Basque literacy to adults.The first Korrika took place in 1980.Since then, the race has become one of the Basque Country’s major events in terms of number of participants. It is held every two years.A hollow baton is carried during the race and exchanges hands at each change of kilometre. Inside there is a message which will not be made public until the Korrika ends when a Basque personality reads it out loud.

POLISH "MARZANNA"

The first day of spring used to be celebrated quite differently than it is now. The oncoming spring was welcome with spring cleaning. On the first Sunday of May winter expelling was held. A spruce tree was decorated with colorful ribbons, papers and pictures of saints. This ‘Maik’ was carried around by boys and girls. Songs about saying farewell to winter and welcoming summer were sung. These days all over Poland, spring is welcome on March 21 st and winter is expelled by sinking or burning ‘Marzanna.’

SANTA AGEDA - EUSKAL HERRIA (4th february)

The story is about a girl called Agate Deuna. She was born in 230 ad. A governor, Quinciano, wanted to marry her but she didn´t want to so Quinciano took her to jail and cut off her chest. She was tortured and she died in Katania on 5th February 251 aged 21. Nowadays we go from house to house and we sing to remember her. Some knock on the door and ask for money. We did so on Friday and we got 1012,77€.You can listen to our students singing Santa Ageda just with a clik on the picture above
